  3. A l’origine de Summer Palace, il y a des mails, poèmes et écrits d’étudiants, à partir desquels j’ai composé le journal intime de Yu Hong, le personnage principal. En 1989, au moment des événements de la place Tiananmen, je terminais mes études à la Beijing Film Academy et je vivais une histoire d’amour. Il y a donc une grande part de vécu.
